Lynn Karlin
Lynn is an internationally published photographer. Originally from New York City, she was the first woman staff photographer for Women’s Wear Daily and W. Her editorial assignments included: House Beautiful, Country Living, The New York Times Magazine and New York Magazine. Since 2009, she has added fine art photography to the mix and is exhibiting her food related still-life series at prestigious galleries, design shops and restaurants around the country with write-ups in The New York Times and The San Francisco Chronicle and London’s Sunday Telegraph.
Her move in 1983 to a farm in Maine previously owned by famous back-to-landers and authors Helen and Scott Nearing led to her classic book, “Maine Farm, A Year of Country Life”, published by Random House. Two “Gardens Maine Style” books followed.
Karlin was won numerous awards, 9 in 2015-16 alone. The most prestigious, the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, she was the winner for the past two years in the Fine Art and Still Life catagories.
The 2015 Garden Writers Association (GWA) Gold Award for Best Photography was presented to Lynn in recognition of her vegetable images in the “Pedestal Series” as seen in the “Simply Raw” 2015 calendar. This national award recognizes the highest levels of talent and professionalism in garden communications.
In 2016, Lynn had the honor of receiving an International Color Award in the Food Category and was the winner in the Fine Art Category for the 8th Edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award.
